My classes :-)

More center work. This was the writing center. the kids had to create a story about something. Sorry I can not remember cause it was about 10 weeks ago :-)
It took me about 5 weeks to have this perfect cursive handwriting you are seeing. I am very proud of how straight and awesome it looks :-)!!!
Working on literacy centers I created for the kids. They were alot of work but totally worth it cause the kids loved them!
My first bulletin board in about 6 years. I think it turned out pretty good!!
Some awesome caterpillars that we made for our insect week!
Mr. Aaron will always have a special place in my heart. This kid is one amazing kid!
This is what happens when the teacher turns her back for a minute :-)
Being silly :-)
The wonderful Sure Start class I got to be apart of. This was an amazing group of kids! I learned so much about teaching and myself through this wonderful class!

Here are some pictures of the past 16 weeks. The 2nd grade class I was in, was amazing! I feel in love with 2nd grade! This age group challenged me daily and made me work, which was great! I think I want to teach 2nd or 3rd grade. I grew so much as a person and as a teacher with the 2nd graders. I could not have asked for a better placement for the 1st 8 weeks.

My second placement was with Sure Start, which is preschool. This group of 4 and 5 year old were just as awesome as the 2nd graders. Each kid has a special place in my heart. I learned so so much in this placement. I am so lucky to have such wonderful placements. I am very sad to say good bye to both classes on Friday.

Hohenfels, Germany has been my home for the past 4 months. I am so sad to be saying good-bye but I am so happy to be going home. I get to see my wonderful fiance, my family and all my amazing friends. But Hohenfels will always be special to me. I am applying for a job with DoDDs. I am super excited about it. So who knows, I could be coming back one day!

I can not wait to see all of you so very soon. 5 days, but who is counting :-)

Best roomie EVER!!

This past weekend Sara and I took our last "Holiday" together. We went to an island off the cost of Spain, Mallorca!! It was amazing! Our hotel had the BEST view ever! Overlooked the beach, it was awesome! We spent 3 wonderful days laying on the beach, with no worries in the world! I got some color, well red color:-) We walked around did some shopping and just took it easy.

My experience here has been more then I could have asked for. I have a new friend for life, Sara. She is 100% amazing! I am so glad that we were roomies, and now friends! The teachers and the staff at Hohenfels have been awesome. So helpful and just amazing. I am going to miss it here. Hohenfels has become home. But I am excited to go home. Less then 2 weeks and I will be back in the U.S.A. where many changes are going to happen. I have to find a teaching job, plan a wedding, I am moving out, my 2 best friends are no longer in Phoenix, but Amber and Matt are. Just alot of changes, wonderful, amazing changes. I have grown up alot of here. I know I can do these things cause God is amazing. He truly has helped me grow up. God has shown me who I am and how strong and smart I am. I always had doubts about that, but I now know with God, I am a Strong women and a smart one too!

Thank you all for you support and prayers. I could NOT have done this without you all. I can not wait to see you all SO very soon!!!

No ma'am we are not under attack....

So Sara and I are just playing around with pictures on our computer, getting ready for bed. And then... we hear thunder. Oh okay, no big deal. Then... gunshots! Hmm, they must be out late at the box (training area). THEN, we hear big huge loud explosions. We both look at each other and don't know what to say. All that we know is we are on an American Military base in Germany... and that these gunshots and boom noises are too close for comfort.

So we hunker down in the BOQ (apartment we're living in on base)... close the windows, shut the blinds, turn off the lights and all in 2.5 seconds since we are continuing to hear these explosion noises. Then, we hear a loud car peel away, and we both decide it is time to call and find out what is going on. After not getting a hold of two teachers who live on base, we call the MP (military police). Here is the conversation that took place on Saturday, May 2nd at 2045.

MP: How can I help you ma'am?
Sara: Hi, I am a student teacher up at the BOQ and I am hearing what sounds like gunshots or something from the box and I am not sure what is going on.
MP: Okay... ma'am where are you?
Sara: At the BOQ, we're just two young single student teachers and we got a little scared cuz we're not sure if they are like fireworks or echoes from the box.
MP: Well, ma'am, we're are not under attack.
Sara: Oh okay good.
MP: (laughing) You should go outside and enjoy the fireworks show, ma'am.

Here is a reinactment of what we went through...

What was that sound....close the windows and turn off the lights....
Quick....duck and cover......
close the bedroom windows......so no one can see us.....
grab the bears....make sure they are safe....check the bears are safe.....
Matt where are you when we need you!
procteced by our baskets......
The bears are safe and sound

German Chocolate!!!

The following are pictures of me enjoying some German Chocolate!!
Kisses for the A-mazing German chocolate!!
It was the BEST EVER!!!
Yummy!!!!
Sara told me to act out what she said, and she said "German Chocolate!" And this is me acting it out:-)
Just being silly!!

Okay so Michele Wolff, the school liaison, took us to a chocolate factory after school. I heard German chocolate was good, but I must say that I was a little nervous. I am not the biggest chocolate fan, but I was going to try it. We get to the chocolate factory and there was ALOT of chocolate! We did find the gummy room! Which was Awesome!! I got some gummys for me and for some people back home (I got you some Roger!!) Then I went and got some chocolate. I got some for other people, Dad I got you some awesome peppermint patties! I did get a little chocolate for me, just to try. I was thinking there was NO, I mean NO way, I was going to like it. We get home and I try some and you will NEVER guess what happened next. Well you might cause you have seen pictures....but I LOVED it!!! The chocolate was the BEST stuff EVER!!! You have NO idea!! I ate like half the bar in like 5 minutes flat. I then proceed to get the biggest sugar high! I was SUPER hyper! Just ask Matt or Sara. It was pretty funny. We went to get pizza for dinner, I danced the whole way there:-) Just spinning and enjoying life! So to make a super long story super short, German Chocolate is AMAZING!!!!

Helicopter Tour!

All of us! The best student teaching crew EVER!!
Matt with the Helicopter!

It was SO cool!!!So Tuesday we got to go see a Huey helicopter!! It was from 1962! It was SO cool. We got to sit in the cock pit! It was just SO cool. Unfortunately we are not allowed to fly in them. A few years back there was a bad accident with some of the soldiers wife's. But it was still so cool to see the helicopters up close!

Engaged!!!

In Munich!
The castle where Jeremy proposed!
My ALL time favorite picture!
Right after Jeremy asked me to marry him!
Another favorite!

Jeremy came out for part of my spring break. He got in Wednesday and left today. We had an amazing time. We went to Munich for one night. Say some cool stuff in Munich. Then we head to Garmish on Thursday. Friday we went to the Neuschwanstein castle, it is the castle that some of the castles are based off of in Disney movies. It was a beautiful day! Could not have asked for better weather! We had a couple of hours to kill before out tour of the inside of the castle, so we walked around and took in all the breathing taking views! About 30 minutes before out tour we decdied to sit around and wait for the tour. Jeremy asked me, about 10 minutes before we were supposed to go, if I wanted to go back up to the top of the castel and take some more pictures. So we went back to the top where it over looks the courtyard.

Side note, everyday Jeremy gave me a gift to open. The first day it was a pack of skittles and a skittles pillow. The second day it was a shirt that he made that said 'shut-up I'm awesome' So in the mornig he gave me a package to put in my purse. It was my gift for the day I did not think much about it. Okay end of side note

So we get to the top and he says I can open my gift for the day. I started to open it when he asked me the question "right or left?" I was really confused, casue come on what type of question is that, lol. I said right casue I am right handed. I could tell he was getting a little nervous. I opened my gift and found a box and inside the box was a bell. I asked "What is this, a bell?" He said "No, it is a ring." Again got a little confused. After that he got down on his "right" knee and asked me to marry him!!!!!! I could not beileve it! Of course I said yes!! He explained the "ring." It symbolizes a ring for now. It was super creative and I loved it! It was 100% perfect!! So Jeremy and I are engaged!!! I am still getting used to it. We are thinking of January for the wedding. God has blessed me with Jeremy. He is amazing! Our trip was just perfect.

The view was breath taking!

This weekend, Mark the art teacher, took me around to 3 different castles. So of course I had to buy a tiara and wear it when we went to the castles:-) It was so much fun! Sara and Matt went to Amsterdam this weekend and I stayed on base. I do miss her:-) Mark and I had a great time. It was nice too because we drove a lot so I got to see some country side and I realized just how beautiful Germany is. I am loving it here!!

Sickness

Hello everyone! Well I have been here for all most 8 weeks. I am all most done with my first placement. I can't believe it! The time has just flown by. I am looking forward to starting my second placement in preschool. It will be a big change from 2nd grade to precshool but I am looking forward to it.

Last week my superivor from NAU came, Marilee. But sadly I did not get to spemd much time with her. I started to get sick on Monday and it just got worse. By Wednesday I had to take a half day cause I was so sick. Kathi was sick also, and Kathi NEVER gets sick or takes days off. She took a half day on Wednesday as well. Come Thursday I was feeling a little better, Kathi took the whole day off. I still was feeling pretty bad but came to school casue Marilee was going to obsver me. But I was out of it pretty much all day and just wanted to sleep. Come Friday it was worse. Marilee took me to a German doctor. The Doctor told me I had a virus and need to stay in bed and get some rest. I did. I slept all day then went to bed around 7. I don't think I have ever gotten as much sleep as I did over the past few days.

Yesterday was a very very rough day. Sara and Matt went to Salzberg for the weekend, so I was by myself. Which was fine. I was still not feeling all that great, so I watched movies and played my DS all day. Just relaxed. I decide I wanted to talk to my Mom so I went to the bolwing alley to the Skype her. But the internet was out. Okay no big deal. I went to the school and emailed chated with my mom for a bit. I told her I would try the bowling alley later to see if the internet was working. I went back a few hours later and it was still not working. I tend to be a little but if a baby when I am sick, and I really wanted to talk to my mom and the internet not working jst pushed me over the edge. I started to cry casue I was still not feeling good and I wanted to be home with my mom. I could not stop crying so I had my mom tell my gramie to call me. My wonderful Gramie called me and she got me to clam down. We started to talk about other things. My mom coming for spring break!! Jeremy:-) and just life. My gramie got me to clam down and just breath. After that I went to bed. I was mentally, emtionally and physically tried.

Today I woke up refrehed and feeling better!! I am happy to finally be feeling better. I think that this being sick business needs to go away:-)

My mom is coming soon! We are going to go to Salzberg and Munich while she is here! I am so excited she is coming! And When she leave Jeremy will be here! I am very excited he is coming too! We are going to hang in Munich and somewhere else, just have not figured it out yet.

Thank you all for ypur prayers and support. I could not be doing this with out you guys! I love you all!!!

Snowboarding!!!

On our way to the slopes!!!
Getting some lessons on the basics of snowboarding!

On the ski lift!!
I <3 her!!

Last Saturday we went snowboarding!!! It was so fun!! We had to be up at 4:30am, cause the bus was leaving at 5:15am! It was super early. The drive was about 3 hours long. I pretty much slept the whole way there. Once we got there we had to take a bus to the slopes. We had a snowboarding instructor to teach us the basics of snowboarding. After about 30 minutes of teaching we hit the slopes. There "bunny hill" was no bunny hill. It was big and a little scary. But we got in 2 runs before lunch. There was a lot of falling, a lot of falling. But it was so much fun. After lunch we got in 2 more runs. Not as much falling but still there were a couple times I totally biffed it. Overall it was SO much fun!! But the next day I could hardly move. We were both SO sore! I am loving it here!!

Vienna!

One of my all time favorite pictures ever!
we had no TP where we were staying, so Sara and I took some from parliament:-)
Just being us!
The most awesome crew ever!!

Last weekend all three of us, Sara, Matt and I, went to Vienna for the weekend! We kind of went not really knowing what were going to do there. Someone one base set us up with the US embassy and we said in one of their apartments for the weekend. We took an ICE train to get there. They are pretty sweet trains. At first we were in the quiet train, we did not know this. Once we realized we were in the quite train we moved to one were we could talk without getting dirty looks.

Once we were there we went to out apartment and went to bed a little early cause we knew that we would be walking a lot the next day. And boy did we. Again we did not really know what we were going to do, so we walked everywhere! We went to the musem distract which was cool. the place, which was also cool. And parilment where we "borrowed" some toilet paper:-)

The weekend was awesome! I like doing stuff with out really knowing what the plan is. Just going with the flow. So now I have been to France, Austria and of course Germany. My mom is coming in about 3 weeks!! I am going to take her to Austria. I am really looking forward to seeing her!! And Jeremy is also coming to see me in abuot 4 weeks!!! I am really excited he is coming out too!!
