My classes :-)

More center work. This was the writing center. the kids had to create a story about something. Sorry I can not remember cause it was about 10 weeks ago :-)
It took me about 5 weeks to have this perfect cursive handwriting you are seeing. I am very proud of how straight and awesome it looks :-)!!!
Working on literacy centers I created for the kids. They were alot of work but totally worth it cause the kids loved them!
My first bulletin board in about 6 years. I think it turned out pretty good!!
Some awesome caterpillars that we made for our insect week!
Mr. Aaron will always have a special place in my heart. This kid is one amazing kid!
This is what happens when the teacher turns her back for a minute :-)
Being silly :-)
The wonderful Sure Start class I got to be apart of. This was an amazing group of kids! I learned so much about teaching and myself through this wonderful class!

Here are some pictures of the past 16 weeks. The 2nd grade class I was in, was amazing! I feel in love with 2nd grade! This age group challenged me daily and made me work, which was great! I think I want to teach 2nd or 3rd grade. I grew so much as a person and as a teacher with the 2nd graders. I could not have asked for a better placement for the 1st 8 weeks.

My second placement was with Sure Start, which is preschool. This group of 4 and 5 year old were just as awesome as the 2nd graders. Each kid has a special place in my heart. I learned so so much in this placement. I am so lucky to have such wonderful placements. I am very sad to say good bye to both classes on Friday.

Hohenfels, Germany has been my home for the past 4 months. I am so sad to be saying good-bye but I am so happy to be going home. I get to see my wonderful fiance, my family and all my amazing friends. But Hohenfels will always be special to me. I am applying for a job with DoDDs. I am super excited about it. So who knows, I could be coming back one day!

I can not wait to see all of you so very soon. 5 days, but who is counting :-)

Best roomie EVER!!

This past weekend Sara and I took our last "Holiday" together. We went to an island off the cost of Spain, Mallorca!! It was amazing! Our hotel had the BEST view ever! Overlooked the beach, it was awesome! We spent 3 wonderful days laying on the beach, with no worries in the world! I got some color, well red color:-) We walked around did some shopping and just took it easy.

My experience here has been more then I could have asked for. I have a new friend for life, Sara. She is 100% amazing! I am so glad that we were roomies, and now friends! The teachers and the staff at Hohenfels have been awesome. So helpful and just amazing. I am going to miss it here. Hohenfels has become home. But I am excited to go home. Less then 2 weeks and I will be back in the U.S.A. where many changes are going to happen. I have to find a teaching job, plan a wedding, I am moving out, my 2 best friends are no longer in Phoenix, but Amber and Matt are. Just alot of changes, wonderful, amazing changes. I have grown up alot of here. I know I can do these things cause God is amazing. He truly has helped me grow up. God has shown me who I am and how strong and smart I am. I always had doubts about that, but I now know with God, I am a Strong women and a smart one too!

Thank you all for you support and prayers. I could NOT have done this without you all. I can not wait to see you all SO very soon!!!

No ma'am we are not under attack....

So Sara and I are just playing around with pictures on our computer, getting ready for bed. And then... we hear thunder. Oh okay, no big deal. Then... gunshots! Hmm, they must be out late at the box (training area). THEN, we hear big huge loud explosions. We both look at each other and don't know what to say. All that we know is we are on an American Military base in Germany... and that these gunshots and boom noises are too close for comfort.

So we hunker down in the BOQ (apartment we're living in on base)... close the windows, shut the blinds, turn off the lights and all in 2.5 seconds since we are continuing to hear these explosion noises. Then, we hear a loud car peel away, and we both decide it is time to call and find out what is going on. After not getting a hold of two teachers who live on base, we call the MP (military police). Here is the conversation that took place on Saturday, May 2nd at 2045.

MP: How can I help you ma'am?
Sara: Hi, I am a student teacher up at the BOQ and I am hearing what sounds like gunshots or something from the box and I am not sure what is going on.
MP: Okay... ma'am where are you?
Sara: At the BOQ, we're just two young single student teachers and we got a little scared cuz we're not sure if they are like fireworks or echoes from the box.
MP: Well, ma'am, we're are not under attack.
Sara: Oh okay good.
MP: (laughing) You should go outside and enjoy the fireworks show, ma'am.

Here is a reinactment of what we went through...

What was that sound....close the windows and turn off the lights....
Quick....duck and cover......
close the bedroom windows......so no one can see us.....
grab the bears....make sure they are safe....check the bears are safe.....
Matt where are you when we need you!
procteced by our baskets......
The bears are safe and sound
